Not my first time in Eat Tokyo but definitely my favorite place for Japanese food outside of sushi !
I ordered the chicken Katsu bento and then to share some gyozas and pumpkin croquettes.
Again amazing food and good quantity for a great price.
I recommend this place to enjoy nice real Japanese food which is more than just sushi -

This is the third location I have been to and it was a consistent experience with the others. Good value for a Japanese meal. They have a huge menu so you can choose from sushi, rolls, donburi, fish, curry, tempura and multiple bento boxes.
I had the mixed tempura which included two prawns, one fish and a variety of vegetables. The box also came with two maki rolls, agedashi tofu, salad and rice with a side miso soup. All this for £11!
It's a small space even with upstairs seating. Service is decent and relatively quick. A good meal in a casual environment. -

I really like this place, they have a huge variety of sushi and cooked Japanese bentos and dishes to choose from. It is always crazy busy, long lineups. The prices are not super expensive. I went to both locations and both were crazy busy.

We were looking for a good sushi after reading the reviews on Yelp.
After waiting outside for over one and a half hour - it was Friday night, we finally made it to a table and were ready to order.
We ordered some nigiris: tuna (まぐろ), fatty tuna とろ, salmon サモン, salmon roe いくら, scallops ほたて as well as sunomono.
And what a surprise we had.
The nigiris had so much wasabi that it completely overwhelmed the taste of fish, going up to your nose even.
The fatty tuna was chewy, despite being a more delicate piece of the tuna.
The sunomono was not grossly shopped, looking as fast food.
We could not even eat the salmon roe nigiris after the first bite. It was way too salty and the brownish colour seemed to indicate a problem with the quality of the product or its freshness.
The salmon roe nigiris were taken from the bill after raising the issue with the manager, acknowledging a problem.
It is beyond comprehension how this place has been rated so highly and a concern about Yelp to provide reliable recommendations.
Further to the "eat Tokyo" branding, we have been there to eat sushi too - Tokyo, and from the quality of the service to the quality of the sushi there is nothing to compare.
Without a doubt, the worst sushi experience we have ever had and a disgrace to sushi. -

This is the 2nd time I've eaten here. I had much fonder memories of it before. We came in around 10:10 (yes it's a late dinner) but the restaurant closes at 11:30 so it should be okay. Well we are greeted and they tell us the kitchen is about to close so we have to order in the next 15min. I am not sure why the kitchen needs to close an hour before the restaurant does as there is no point in staying open if you can't order food.
The host came over to our table and was flipping through the menu for us and telling us what to get, all of which happened to be sashimi. I can only assume was to save the kitchen time as well as fish that would go bad. This was quite out of the ordinary for us and made us feel uncomfortable.
The food was so so. I had some Katsu Jyu, and a spider roll which was the highlight of my meal. The katsu tasted dry to me and I was unable to finish it. I also thought it was chicken but honest to God I had no idea what kind of meat it was. Chicken does not taste like that. Even my friend Irene's friend who is a total bitch wouldn't eat this katsu if given the opportunity to do so. The spider roll on the other hand was still warm, freshly made and every piece was delicious. If I go again I will most likely only get sushi rolls.
I don't see the benefit of going here over places like wasabi and itsu if I'm only going to be getting sushi from now on.
